Comcast here. The so called free Phone is part of the package that we don't use, it's the TV that's costly. We could cut it back by dropping our package lower, Triple play with HBO added on and then my son has the Netflix account he pays for that we can access and watch on our other TV's as well.

Wow, just received my bill yesterday. Internet 50Mbs 1 TB Monthly Data. is now $71.99 per month. TV is $205.39 plus $29.99 for land line. How sad it that? If I go 100% streaming I will have to pay extra for exceeding 1 TB Monthly Data. They have us all by the throat...... who are you with? do a google search "internet providers near me" and you will get a list. pay note of the ratings and compare some prices and see what you can get.
After I cut off the tv with Frontier, they were charging me $100+ for 75/75 internet only. I shopped around and found that Charter was offering 100/100 internet for $49.99 all equipment included and no data limit. with free self install. should be a piece of cake. I'll call Frontier and cancel as soon as the new service is up and running. throughout the year, I'll get a streaming service now and then to watch my favorite shows, but I see a big savings Thanks, DW. I have been checking out all my options. I am dropping all my premium channels and will get them for a month at a time when there is a series I want to watch. Still working out the rest. Trying to figure this all out takes a lot of time and it is a real pain. LOL!

Remember as a new customer you typically can get a good discount for a year, Comcast for instance a 99.00 triple play depending on your location with the TV and added Starz and typically 3 months of HBO and 50 megs minimally up to a lot higher depending on your location for the starter rate. After the initial contract is when the fun begins, Dish has a good deal for the TV around here but you will still have to use your internet provider and would have two bills.

I hope we all save a lot of money while still being able to enjoy the shows we love. These guys deserve to loose our business! I wouldn't be surprised if they get sued at some point for price gauging..

I will let everyone know..

you know that GOT is responsible for all these streaming services, right? They started HBONOW in response to all the pirating of GOT. now, everybody's doing it. I think we will be better off for it..

Sadly I think it will turn into holding us hostage, seems like all great ideas get turned into another way to gouge the consumer, remember who controls the lines to your house, then look at the ratings of shows, anything that takes off and is a good series or product is going to get pumped up in price to take advantage of it. So now you have Comcast carrying Hulu and Netflix and CBS HD online on their backbone, so you get your data rates increased plus the programming will go up. Monopolizing the feeds as well as the airwaves.

Most companies in my area won't give unlimited monthly data. They know people are cutting the cord and need higher data usage. If they can't gauge you all of it, then they will make sure to gauge for the internet service. I guess I will be happy to save $100 per month.

We just have to try and make it as cost effective as possible. I'm not kidding myself, if we want to continue to watch TV it will cost at least $200.00 per month. I just hope I can keep it that low....

OK, on a less cranky subject. Alienist. The Doc goes from asshole to nice guy on a dime. He slaps Dakota and tells John she thinks he is indolent. John goes out and starts drinking again. I'm not sure what to think about his mood changes. I am worried for his housekeeper, I'm afraid he will end up hurting her badly. The dirty ex cop needs a beat down, I hope he gets caught for killing Silver Smile. It seems we are getting closer to finding the child killer. We still need to solve the Doc mystery.
Counterpart. I was surprised Harry let his wife know he was on to her. I hope she doesn't make him pay for it...It was good to get her back story. It appears world 2 has been planning to take over world 1 for a very long time. I'm glad Harry told Howard what is going on, he is safer the more people who know. The wife let her cyanide pill lapse, that will not go well with her handlers. We need to learn why she let the pill expire???

One good thing about the housekeeper - she looks like she can handle herself! The Doc is a little spooky...really. Why hurt John like that?? Yes, I'm hoping the dirty cop is found out also. And goes to prison. That's always horrible for a cop.

That amazed me that they had been planning to overtake world 1 for such a long time! That's some serious murdering going on in their minds! DAMN! No wonder they brought in Geilis to do the heavy lifting! LOL Clothes or no clothes - she is going to be unreal! I could be wrong Marilyn, but that could have been a ploy on the wife's part. She might have another pill or another plan entirely. I agree that Harry was right to tell Howard. I hope they keep Harry another season - at least.

Alienist - Little LA, I think the house keeper can take care of herself, but I'm not sure if she can take care of her heart and he may just break it. I hope I'm wrong. He does seem to feel remorse after he treats people badly. I think he is trying to drive a wedge between Dakota and John, not sure why yet. Both the dirty cop and the ex commissioner need to do some time, they are nasty.
Geilis can voodoo them all to death . The world 2 people need some nice and decent pills to replace their cyanide pills. Yes, I hope Harry is back next season and beyond. Not positive, but we may only have a few more episodes. I will be sad to see the season end, not a lot on right now.

Television is a tad skimpy these days as far as new programming goes! Anyone see anything coming that looks good?? Not HuLu, Netflix. LOL

Well.... I know have Netflix. Thank you daughter! She pointed out a weekly show that some of you may have seen Grace and Frankie. It is VERY funny. Lilly Tomlin and Jane Fonda. And two gentlemen to really enjoy in their respective parts.
Can't wait for Counterpart tonight at 8. Who knows what will happen tonight?!?
