So much for things will get crazy, keep the tissues close. I didn't think things got very crazy, but yes to the tissues.
we all knew Jamie's trial would work out, Brienne stepped up and Bran/TER stayed quite. How right was Bran, if it hadn't happened you wouldn't be a different man and I wouldn't be who I am. "Who said there would be an after" some great foreshadowing, that Jamie won't make it to the end and maybe not the Three Eyed Raven....
Arya goes back to the forge for more Goo Goo eyes. Gendry wants her safe in the crypts, not wolf girl, she throws the dragon glass knives. "My weapon, I'll get right on it" First she's going to impress him to death.
Gotta love Tyrion, how many times have we heard how he intends to die at 80 years of age in bed, you guys know the rest.
This was a great Jamie episode, he is so humble with Brienne, admitting he not the fighter he was and asking to fight under her command. Very touching! Tear! Tear!
I love Jorah, he is such a great guy, he is nice to everyone, accepting of everyone and still giving great advice to Dany. Helping smooth things with Tyrion and Sansa. Sansa and Dany are mostly OK, Just the small issue of the the North. Good thing they were interrupted, they can be mostly friends till their not!
Ok, I was shocked with the Sansa Theon shipping. Came out of left field for me, but it is sweet and more tears. They also have that Ramsey bond, and they both leaned on each other to escape. Guess they just clicked!! Sweet!!
Loved the Night's Watch reunion "My Little Crow", belly laugh!! Sam, Edd & Jon, still have that bond of love and trust. They are so comfortable in each others company. They let poor Ghost out of the closet. Almost sad, stupid after thought!! the way it was handled.
"The big woman still here??" Huge belly laugh!!! What would we do without Tormund?? Love Love Love!!!
War council was very revealing... We learned what the Knight's King really wants, and it was really simple, he wants an endless night and to erase the world of men. I'm satisfied they kept it sweet and simple. He must end the Three Eyed Raven and his encyclopedia mind to acompolish his wish.. So they have a plan.. Me thinks it won't be so easy......What plan did Tyrion and Bran hatch with their conversation?? Just have this sneaking feeling they schemed some private plan B.
The fireside chat was priceless... Tormund made me belly laugh for 5 minutes. If I was king I would knight you 10 times... I loved the salute to Dunk & Egg, with Jamie Knighting Brienne as her ancestor Dunk had been Knighted all those years ago. Then the salute to Jenny of Oldstones was great for all us book readers. Thanks!! Loved it!!
Loved Arya and the Hound, the love is there, but they just can't be soft about it. He is for sure her second dad. "Where are you going? I'm not spending my final hours with you two miserable old shits" You go wolf girl! Hey, I'm not leaving this cold world till I'm a woman in every way... Poor Gendry, first he gets the Spanish Inquisition, then he didn't know what tornado hit him. Didn't take him long to get on board with the program. "Take your own bloody pants off".
Jorah & fiestey Lyanna, Tear! Tear!. Jorah, Sam and Heartsbane! Tear! Tear!
Wow, how much bad luck can two people have?? Dany and Jon have no luck at all. Good thing the Kinght's King showed up, they can put their mess of a relationship on the back burner for a while.
It was a really good episode for me!!!
Not prepared for the carnage next episode. I WILL need the tissues then!!!

You covered it all! The fireside chat was my favorite part. And Jorah and Lyanna was so sweet. He is a very good man. Now his family knows it.
Sansa and Theon shocked me too Marilyn. Not in a million years did I see that coming.
Jaime had his best episode ever. Brienne loves and respects him so..... I wish they could live.
Jon did the telling of the truth, but Dani really did not want to hear the truth. That was sad. If she is not really the rightful heir to the Iron Throne then she would have a hard time with doing some of the things she has done. All that killing and burning. Jon would not have done that.
Bran/TER explained everything so beautifully. I sure hope there is a plan B, because having Theon be the guard of the one person who holds the future of all mankind....I don't think so. lol
Arya finally got her fella. Finally. That was too cute.
Next week should be something else! How many of our old friends will die??

I'm not gong character by character, but the highlights over all are included.
This was great episode, so many things showed up, we seen the growth of all the Characters, Jaime being the Knight and person he always wanted to be accepted as, knowing he was going to face Sansa and Dany he still went and faced the music, regardless of Sansa's feelings for Tyrion and Breinne Dany could have killed him as could have Sansa. Bran not speaking up because he has a roll to play I think is a tease, he will not kill Cercie, he has another roll. To obvious to me. Him Knighting Breinne was his love and respect for her deeds as well as her Honor being recognized in a situation of people that all have seen her hold those values above all else.
Arya I think the episode also focused on her and her getting in touch with her inner feelings, making contact with all those she has had experiences with as a last good bye to some and with Gendry fulfilling a desire she has kept buried for many years and or denied, remember she said she was not going to be a lady. Finding out who he is shocked her but also solidified things, he is not a commoner. The Game of faces was a test of Gendry's honesty and feeling things out. Their embrace and sex seen was awkward because she was a novice at something finally, we have seen her competent in everything for two seasons now. It also humanizes her more. She has desires that a normal young women would have.
Sansa and Dany's interactions were also telling, Dany thinking she could women up and use the love for Jon as a common ground to manage things went only so far, Sansa standing her ground but also sharing a bit of herself in saying she should have welcomed Dany speaks of how she now looks at everything and shows she can even make a mistake, admit it but do it with power still. Dany was taken aback out how she was accepted and then politely rebuffed in her overtures to get Sansa to concede the North. The scene with Theon set up things beautifully, Theon came for Sansa and the North because of live and respect, not because of Dragons, fear and power, Dany looked confused by this. Same in the crypts with Jon, she went right to Heir to the throne and Jon wasn't even contemplating that aspect really. Dany's position was one of a challenge to her right to the throne, where it should have been much more about the revelation Jon just had about who he was.
All and all we seen almost all our most cherished character display their growth as people and what they have cast aside from the early seasons to become who they are. Next week is going to be brutal, not just finding out who we lose, but the impact those lost have on those that remain.
The story leaped forward character by character to show us how they have grown into the character they are, that's fast paced with so many. It showed how all of the have bonded together as well. This aspect was what we have seen everyone in power work towards for the last two seasons. It was the pay off if you will.

Bravo Chris.
I think that the WW are coming for the dead that lie in the crypts. That is why we see Arya running and so fearful. I think they have raised Ned. With that, I think about Benjen not turning all the way and perhaps Ned will not do that either. The warging might play a factor in that. I honestly don't have a clue. But the look on her face while running is fear and she is not afraid. So perhaps she doesn't want to kill her raised father. My fear is that she will fall. Plainly that would bite the really big one for all of us that love her character.

Lee Ann, are you starting to feel like Dany might be showing some cracks? I mean the Seven Kingdoms isn't Essos, she needs to be more careful how she treats people if she wants the respect of the people of Westeros. I agree, maybe more than Theon guarding Bran. I think Theon is a much better person and I think he does have his confidence back, but Bran is very important to the whole world.....
Lee Ann I'm glad I'm not the only one that got hit by a steam roller with the Sansa Theon romance. I think it is sweet, but so unexpected. LOL!!
You are so right, next episode will mess with our heads BIG TIME!!!! At this point I don't want one character to die, they are all family now.....

Nice write up Chris. Even with little action in episode 8.2, it was so important and so cohesive. Our last moments with the characters we watched grow and fell in love with. We were able celebrate each character and their journey. So gratifying to see they all turned into their best self....
Losing any one of them will suck the big one.......

It is Saturday and our last day for joy in the characters that we have come to know and love.
That was very funny Chris!! Thank you for that giggle. I imagine we won't have many of those after tomorrow night.
In a re-watch of the episode last night; it is really a great episode. Jon sees Dany for the first time, I think. You can tell by the way his eyebrows come together. He already knows this won't be working out. Even if they were both able to survive the Night King and his many many minions. Including the ones he raises in the Crypts. Ugh!
Have a great weekend all!

Interesting, Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is being called best of 5 all time series episodes. I think I totally agree!!! Even with no action, it was a great character episode and the last we will ever have with all those characters alive. It is one of my top 3.
So nervous for Sunday night, it will not only be a heart breaker, but only 3 episodes will remain afterward. This is going even faster than I would had thought. The prospect of losing these characters to death or the end, is gut wrenching. They have been in our lives for 8 years on TV and I'm not at all ready to let go.
I'm sure we will be 4 sad and crying people Sunday night, talk to you all on the other side.....
Have a great weekend, till Sunday night anyway!!

Part of me doesn't want this episode to air at all, selfish me I have grown attached these characters over the years and it's going to be painful frame by frame to see some of them not be part of our weekends anymore.
Will catch up with you later afterwards, may take a bit to put all my thoughts together but I will.
Enjoy history being made this weekend and the rest of the season, our favorite show should almost sweep every Emmy this year.
